Services include; skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, respiratory therapy, registered dietitian and home health aide.
American River Visiting Providers brings concierge and house calls for both primary and emergency medical services. Experienced nurse practitioners provide treatment and care in the comfort of your own home. Companion Care
American River Companion Care strives to provide independence for our clients and peace of mind for their families.
Our caregivers are dedicated to bringing support and assistance to our clients in the comfort of their own homes. Quality and professional service is of utmost importance to us, and we aim to create a warm and peaceful environment.
Services Include; up to 24- hour care at home, companionship, laundry, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, transportation, bathing, personal hygiene, exercise, medication reminders, pet care.
Infusion Pharmacy Services
American River Infusion Services is a home infusion, specialty pharmacy and Ambulatory Infusion Center. Our expert team is ready to meet your infusion needs. The therapies we provide include, but are not limited to, infusions for infections, nutritional support, end-stage heart failure, chronic inflammatory disorders, and autoimmune diseases. Our pharmacists are dedicated to providing real time care whether you are in the infusion suites or at home. With 24 hours/7 days a week on call services, we have dedicated clinicians available to answer any questions or concerns at any time.
Hospice Care
American River Hospice Services is built on a foundation of delivering compassionate and competent care. Our promise to every patient and their family, is that our quality professionals will deliver excellent care and the greatest patient experience. Phillip McMillan

Phillip B. McMillan is a registered nurse and CEO of American River Healthcare, which includes Home Health, Non-Medical, Hospice and Home Infusion Pharmacy Services. Phillip founded American River Home Care in 2014 with the vision of providing quality care and employing quality clinicians. American River Home Care started as a small company, and in just 8 years the organization has grown to employ over 245 individuals and has provided services to over 25,000 patients.
Phillip spent 7 years as a nurse in various departments, ranging from Orthopedics to the Emergency Room setting. As a charge nurse in the ER for many years, Phillip was goal oriented and regularly used his leadership and interpersonal relationship skills to successfully run a team of nurses. Phillip recognized a need within the medical community for competent and compassionate care for patients, once discharged home from the hospital.
The transition from the hospital setting to home health care was natural, given Phillip’s leadership qualities. As an Administrator, Phillip successfully reorganized and ran two separate home health care agencies. It was during this time that he realized he could make his dream of owning his own home health care agency a reality. Since 2014, the American River brand has established an outstanding reputation within the community and has developed several key partnerships with leading hospitals in the area.
American River’s accomplishments are very vast and original. Most notable, is the inception of several pilot programs with hospital systems. These programs were the first of their kind and yielded remarkable outcomes. Decreased length of stay and lowered readmissions have been so remarkable, making American River a highly sought out health care partner. Other major accomplishments include a 99% retention rate of employees and high patient satisfaction scores.
Phillip was born and raised in a small town in South Georgia. He graduated from nursing school in 2004 and relocated to California in 2008. Phillip has a wife and two sons that he adores and loves to spend time with. Sporting events, school activities and traveling are amongst his favorite things to do with his family.

Dana McMillan is the CFO of American River Visiting Providers and the American River Healthcare family of businesses. She brings over 10 years of leadership and financial experience to the Visiting Providers team. Raised in the Sacramento region (in Folsom), she has been a part of the Greater Sacramento community for over 25 years, and is committed to finding new ways to offer better care for our Visiting Provider patients.
